What this site is for
It exists to argue one thing and to grade that argument honestly. The claim is that skin quality is planned last for visual and commercial reasons rather than evidential ones, and that the strongest evidence in this field belongs to sun protection, a topical retinoid, not smoking and barrier care. Three facts are kept visible wherever they bear on the argument: skin quality is a bundle of attributes that move independently rather than one score; the phrase has no regulatory existence, so a claim about it cannot be checked against an approval; and a facelift or a filler is an answer to laxity or volume rather than to the surface of the skin.
This site holds a position, and states it as one
The central claim here — that treating skin quality first improves the results of later treatment — is an editorial position, not a finding. No study has tested the sequence as an endpoint, and the reasoning behind it comes from how skin behaves and how plans get built. It is graded Limited in the same table as the claims this site argues against, and labelled an editorial position wherever it appears. That grading is the honest description of the argument, and it is kept rather than improved as the site is revised.
What it deliberately does not do
It does not recommend for or against any treatment, and it does not invite a reader toward an assessment or a consultation. It is not a booking page and it offers no service in relation to anything it describes. It does not name brands, quote prices, or describe how any treatment is performed. It does not argue that skin care replaces a structural treatment, and it does not present the position as settled fact: the exceptions where lifting or volume comes first are named on their own page rather than folded into the argument.
How the content is reviewed and corrected
Ke He, MD, Deputy Director and Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics, is the responsible physician. The evidence in this subject moves slowly and the marketing around it moves quickly, so the review is dated and revisited on a short cycle rather than treated as a settled text, and the checks it makes are listed on the maintenance page. If you find something unclear, out of date or wrong, the contact page explains how to tell us, and the correction is made to the page itself.
